Default First Black Powder Deer

It finally happened.

I got my first deer with my Lyman 54 cal rifle the other weekend. We were out hunting and came across a lone Fellow buck. I have been carrying the rifle on and off for months. One shot at 80 yards,a clean kill and meat in thechiller. I'm rapt.

Congratulations on your first deer, but where the heck are you hunting deer in the middle of July legally?

He must be overseas somewhere. But great shooting. These guns are a hoot and great to get involved in.

80 yards with a Lyman..way to go. And meat in the cooler is a bonus. Were you shooting a roundball?
