Default First Black Powder Deer

I got my first Black Powder deer this evening and I think I am addicted already. I never hunted with a muzzleloader when I was younger since we didn’t have a season for it in Wyoming so when I started going to college in Nebraska and my Dad bought a farm here I figured I had better give it a try. A couple of my buddies from school who muzzeleload took me out and showed me the basics and I was hooked. Somehow I talked my girlfriend into buying me an Omega as an early Christmas present and I was off. Well from the time Christmas break started until tonight I spent a little over 30 hours in the stand before a deer gave me a comfortable shot. This guy came into about 45 yards and stopped broadside. He ran/walked about forty yards and expired. Not the biggest deer but the hunt ranks up there as one of my favorites. Thanks for listening and have a Happy New Year.

You got a beautiful buck, and since your girl friend got you the Omega, she is definitely a keeper also. Congratulations. Welcome to the BP forum. Chap Gleason
