I see you are in Cazenovia. I thought I recognized your area there from the cornfield picture. It looks like a place just east of Caz.between Caz & Nelson??
I lived south of New Woodstock for ten years, and hunted mostly in the vicinity of Georgetown. Many people don't know it, but some of the biggest deer in NY are in Madison County. Madison County NY is a beautiful place. And often it has good tracking snow! Glad to see you got a nice eating-size buck. He probably won't be too tough!

Thanks for the replys guys - It was one of the best seasons for me in a lot of years.
We put up the stand at the end of bow season, when it seemed that thedeer would like to enter this corn plot from the downhill overgrown apple orchard, we didn't trim anything out in from of the stand, and didn't really need to fro shots under 100yds. The "Y" branch didn't bother me at all, it was no trouble at all to shoot around if need be. 3 deer were taken from this stand this season. However - the upper left corner was tough, any deer that came out was obscurred by limbs, if they cam to the corn you were OK - but if they just fed on the Turnips/Rapeseed - then you had no shot.

Madison County is really nice looking land to hunt, wish the soil was a little better, but I wouldn't trade our propoerty for the world.- Its actually between Georgtown and Erieville - the picture below is of the same field, from a different angle (a couple years ago)and showsHatchLake in the backround- but the area sure looks the same as around Nelson.
