I think I'm going to just stay away from the Powderbelts....lol. Sounds to me like there not so great. Disentegrating and all. So what if you shoot a couple grains over 100. Still doesn't seem like it should fall apart on impact. Too bad I bought a pack. They shot ok on paper (tried a few to see how they grouped), but nothing compared to the SW's. The SW's are what is recommended for my gun anyway. They might costs a little more, but in my opinion the accuracy is worth every cent. If I'm putting shots through the same last hole, I think that is what I'm going to stick with. Another thing I don't understand is it taking 100 shots for my gun to "break in". I've heard that from other places / people... not just here. It's shooting just fine. I think I'm going to give TC a call and ask them a few ?'s about thisrifle. There are so many new things I'm learning. I wonder why they don't put any of this in their owner's manual ???? ...Maybe they should. Thanks for all the info!

Many folks do 100 stokes of JB bore shine to get the 100 shot, smooths out the rifling which is machined. Chap Gleason

You should be good to go then and your rifle is broken in not from shooting but from the JBing. Chap

Buckhunter46755They make a great varmit bullet, I blew up a coyote with a 245HP and 150 gr like you would not believe, his back bone was about all that was holding the two halfs together.

Powerbelts shoot well but I'm not a fan for hunting. Never had a deer run more than fifty yards on me before I started using power belts.

I may have to try them on some varmits some time. Don't much varmit hunt though. Occasionaly shoot a groundhog out of the farmers field. Even ate one one time! Along with coon & opossum. They were all very greasy and not very good. However, a couple friends of my dadsat his workbrought some raccoon in and the people who tried it said it was great. They cooked it in a crock pot with barbecue sauce. I tried to boil mine first, then bake it. Still tuff as heck.

I've never had a problem with PB's. I switched last year to the 270 Platinum AT's...amazing accuracy..and not 1 issue with pass-thru's on broadside shots.

I think that is the key "broadside shots". Chap Gleason

I shot a little doe yesterday at about 20 yds. I was using 100 grains triple7 and 145 grain powerbelts. After i shot i could not believe, but deer ran off. Went over and found blood and tracked it about 200 yds before finding her. My shot was right above from shoulder, no exit. It appears bullet disintegrated. The little green tip, I found near its butthole.

I do want to change bullets because my gun shoots them real accurate, but don't do any good if you are losing deer.
