Its just right. The recovered bullets ive found where a perfect little mushroom. Of course, that was 200 yards and they do slow down quite a bit at that range. I need to do more testing with that 100 grain fffg goex load @ 100 yards. I've keep biting my fingers lately to stay out of my wallet. Im ordering a GPR .54 flintlock on the 15th of this month.
What twist? Are yuo gonna shoot PRB or Conicals in it? Chap

Im ordering the 1:60 twist. PRB only for her. Im trying to avoid conicals and such. Its cheaper and a lot easier to find PRB in my area.

Also the powerbelt website does not offer the #'s for a 225 grain aerotip shooting 100 grains loose powder. The rifle also has a 32" barrel, not their advertised 26"/28" barrel.

Im emailing Powerbelt bullets now so i can get a rough idea on #'s the rifle is putting out.

That is a good price new, the 54 has a lot of power behind it, should be great. Did you get double trigger? I like the double trigger in a FL, much greater accuracy for me. Chap Gleason

Thanks for all the advice guys !!
I went with
100 grains Shockey Gold and 250 grain TC Shockwaves.
I shot this buck at 7:50am CST on 11/19 at 63 yards. He went about 40 yards and then dropped.

Wow, that looks like at least a 20" spread, beautiful deer. Way to go with the SW. Chap Gleason
