T7 is less powerful?

I'm not sure about this. Please feel free to correct me if I'm all messed up on this.
Isn't Pyrodex P 10% stronger than Pyrodex RS to whick T7 ff is compared too? Ifthis is the case, there would be very little difference between 90 gr Pyrodex P and 80 gr T7 ff.

fffg triple 7 i was using today. I have no clue how much of a difference there is. FFG and fffg triple 7 all shoot the same in both of the rifles i have sighted in. Pyrodex p made a huge difference with my flintlock and im now able to shoot constant groups. When using triple 7, first shot would be dead on, next 3 or 4 shots would be 10 to 11" low. It was doing the same thing in my x-150 and thats when i started swabbing between shots to keep the groups the same.

Pyrodex P is aFINER powder than regular pyrodex, packs down more, and should be faster than standard pyrodex (which is what huntaway is saying). Most people compare regular pyrodex to 777 when they say it is faster, not the pyrodex P. Maybe someone has chronographed P vs. regular and can let you know.
And as stated, you CANNOT compare "strengths" between powders by how high they hit on the target. At 100 yards, 90 grains of 777 will hitHIGHER than 100 grains of 777out of my Omega.
The ONLY thing I look at when comparing powders is which one gives me the best groups. Doesn't matter where they hit at first. The one giving me the best groups is the one I shoot, then I adjust my sights accordingly.
And I have not been able to get consistent groups with either 777 or pryodex unless I swabbetween shots.Granted, it is probably worse with 777 if you don't swab.

While not definitive, I have done a few comparisons of 777 2 and 3 F and Pyrodex P. Using 54 PRB the 3 powders were only showing slight differences in velocity. With 50 conicals the 777 2F shot slightly faster than the 3F and the Pyro P was a little slower but not by much. In most rifles the slower load will shoot higher due to muzzle rise, this is fairly common.
I would go with the one that gives the best accuracy and not worry too much about the velocity, the differences will not make enough difference in trajectory within normal hunting ranges to worry about.
