weight bullets ( 150gr.). For elk, stick with the heavier bullet weights such as 180gr., and up. Use the better bullets too, like the Nosler partition, Trophy Bonded, or the
Remington Core-Lokt Ultras.

No, absolutely not. Any of the .300 magnums is not going to be enough gun for elk. I found this out one day while at the local shooting range. I was shooting my .300 Wby Sako and the guy shooting next to me told me I'd need a much more powerful cartridge if I expected to kill an elk. Surely a fellow shooter wouldn't lead me astray. Or would he?
