250 vs 300gr

You know, THIS is a very interesting subject to me... I guess I have just been really lucky, because i have never really struggled with getting a sabot/bullet combinationto shoot well from any of the guns that I shoot other than this little bout with the White - but i really think we have that explained. There is probably a good reason for me, that i do not struggle with sabot/bullet combinations... I am cheap so I really do not get into buying the expensive bullets, other thanthe time proven Noslers. From there I am really limited...first XTP's now Gold Dots.... and I only shoot .451/.452/.458's other than the 10mil 200.... So you can see how plain jane I am... Heck! I go to Baskin and Robbins, home of over 100 different flavored ice cream - I order vanilla.... if God wanted you to have any other flavor it would come that way from the cow... just white milk and white ice cream from a cold cow....
I believe I have the newer Remington ready to go out after getting the trigger adjusted and taking care of the fore arm pressing the barrel up and left. So i will get is sighted in and give the 200's a go at 200 with it, the blue sabot/bullet combination is a whole bunch tighter in it...
if you have any ideas on why some rifles will shoot almost anything well and others are very touchy about having the right load to shoot good

gleason.chapmanI agree to a point, when it gets too tight and bullets or sabots are distorted or you can not load with out special equipment I think accuracy goes west.
It is interesting to mr that my new Triumph will shoot almost all the commen bullets and powder loads inside two inches and the best ones shoot clover leaves; it is just tight enough that I have to struggle a bit to load it,it also has a very smooth barrel.
Sabotloader, the thought behind what I said is that is exactally the way the to slow for the bullet length twists act and my Omega has held 5" groups at 250yd with the 50/40 200gr which I think is good for Mz I just hope the Triumph will do as well. Lee

I mostly agree with this statement but I prefer the the snug instead of tight.... Then of course how do we measure your tight and my snug.... Your Savage shooting smokelessmay beanother animal, it probably really needs to be on the tighter side, would not know because I have never shot one - they are not legal here....
the bullet has toload without struggle, but must be tight.

Sabotloader thanks for the information in the chart.Maybe i know why my lead .44 caliber bullets are not shooting well in my green sabots. I have loose green sabots ofat least threedifferent types. Thought they were all the same.
