hey
im an AK man myself, live in the interior
got two moose in the last 4 years, nothin big, but awesome meat both were 36 inchers
a hint, a ferry ride is a great alternate to driving the alcan, or flying, also relatively cheap
a tip, go out ot ferry, between healy and clear
bring a fourwheeler along, and you will have a awesome trip, and see some moose.

Man, you guys are getting me excited. I purchased 4 new guns this year, and told my wife that next year I'm going hunting somewhere. She gave me the big nod! It will probably cost me a dishwasher or something, but who cares. After Christmas I am going to start looking for a moose gun. Any suggestions? I currently hunt elk with a 30.06 but I think I'm going to pick up a .338. Fishing all the way up there, man that must have been a great trip!

We drove from Vegas to Alaska this summer in 3&1/2 days. We only made it just north of Helena, MT the first day because some Hooters Chicken Wings tore up our insides. The trip can be done from MT in two days with swapping driving times. The scenery is great, and we drove with out 3 year old in the back seat. No problems whatsoever. You'll enjoy the drive and the scenery.
