HAs anyone ever hunted blacktails on kodiak island?????
I've hunted and shot black tails on many of the islands along the coast of Alaska. I always liked hunting them, so some years i'd take 3 or 4 trips to one island or another.

There's a lot of deer on the islands, and i had no problem getting 4 or more every year.

I shot the buck in the pict. on Kodiak with my custom 7 Express Remington useing a 145 grain Speer bullet.

I'm really looking forward to hunting Elk with a bow. I've hunted them with rifle and heard a few close bugles which gets the blood pumping. They move so fast for such a big animal and next year I'm going to do it. I'd like to hunt Alaskan Moose too. I took one bull in Minnesota but they are a smaller subspecies than the alaskan.

For my nickel, it is hard to beat a horse pack trip for elk. It is what I live for. Whatever your decision, good luck & good hunting.
