Most memorable hunting moment this year?
#21
My most vivid moment was when I put down a 140 class 11 point in Pa at 85 yards. He went down like he was in cement. I watched for a minute or two, he was not moving. I approached him as he lay on the side of a bench going up the mountain. I was 15 yards from him when he got up and bolted over the rise to the mountain top. My heart sank, luckily I had hit him good, just a tad low. He ran over the top where i couldn't see him anymore (actually about 20 yards) and went down again. When I got to the top I couldn't see him and thought he was gone. Then I saw him piled up to my left. I put one more round in his neck just to avoid this scene again! He is a beautiful, solid 10 point with a nice kicker off of his right G2 to make him an 11pt. He is at the Taxidermist now. He was the 13th deer of opening morning and the 4th buck I saw that day by 10:00am.
