My proud moment next year in Wi as a Father
If changing the age limit in Wisconsin to hunt next year passes in Wisconsin my dreams come true early! I have a son who will be 9
on xmas and if he passes the hunter safety course and I have
the next 9 months (Actually a lifetime) to work with him were GONE HUNTING.

P.S.- I have already been working with him and his 22 and the importance of safety. I have another son will be 5 so 3 years to that.

I too am in Wisconsin, PEAKRUT Kenosha as a matter of fact. I had two of my kids in the woods this year for thier first hunts. They have been in the woods with me from around age 7(Both 13,12) this year. Strayed from my normal hunting routine to spend the time with them running camera and being a teacher. Didn't miss a thing. One of the most enjoyable seasons in along time. One I'll never forget.....

i think 8 is to young for a kid to be going hunting. i live and hunt wisconsin and have been since i was 12, and i think that should be the age to do it at. i just dont think a kid that young should be in the woods with a firearm

Yes I agree. 8 is a bit young to be carying a firearm. I dont know too many 8 year olds that would be able to handle a high caliber rifle or shotgun. I took my 7 year old out with me a few times during bow season and durign the gun season. It was great. But I can not see him nor woudl I think about putting a rifle in his hands at 8.
