Fess up! What moment in time would you most like to forget or live down?

the one i would like to forget but my buddies won't, i had setup in a great spot the next mornin everything was going great until a bolt broke in the base of my stand which gave me a heart attack now i had a saftey strap on but it was one that just went around your waist so when i fell i tried to catch a branch and ended hanging upside down that wasn't so bad but the saftey strap slid down to my feet pullin my pant's with it, i tried to get myself back up right but had to hang there until my huntin buddie showed up, i no longer use that style of saftey strap and replace the bolt's in my stand's yearly but one good thing i didn't drop my bow

Hey Paul,
Hope you were using a Whisker Biscuit so you can keep your arrow on the rest! Would you still use the same pins upside down! Glad you had a safty belt on and ok. When I first started bowhunting I would, at least 4 or 5 times a year forget to tie my bow on before climbing up! On one morning I took a co-worker in to "show him how it was done" and no sooner sat down in my stand I had a good wide 7 point come in and bed down about 15 yards away.I slowly pulled up my rope and within the first foot or two had a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach.
Yep, you guessed it,no bow! My buddy sitting 150 yards away and watching through binos got a kick out of it!

Love the nude/tree stand/dangling hunter picture in my mind. Need to post a photo. Mine was last year in an oak tree on a 2X4. Buddy was across the waterhole. I decided to take a big 6x bull elk at 29 yards instead of waiting for him to get to water at 19. Pulled my release and nothing happened. Said the F word out loud and let down. Bull looked at me and I drew again with same result. Looked down and string was hooked on a suspender button. Had leaned back for the shot. Bull left and buddy won't stop telling on me. Oh well, he had a release nut pop loose and broke his own nose on a draw three years ago! Love this stuff.

Well i havent really told anybody about this but i figured this topic was the perfect opp. In my early years of bow hunting I was hunting a good spot that i usually seen deer at. I got to stand early and undetected and everything was good. about 4:00 a doe came in and started feeding, I waited a good 1/2 hour to see if anything would follow and nothing, so I decided to take this deer. I had a arrow nocked and drew on the deer found my mark and released, miss right over her back. she trotted off and turned and came back. I said well I'll get ya this time so I nocked another arrow, drew and released, missed again. underneath her this time, I said what the hell. she ran over a bit and came back sniffing the 2 arrows I just fired down at her. I nocked another arrow drew and released and guess, missed her again this time she ran and didnt come back and it was a good thing cuz i didnt have any arrows left.........lmao I guess it wasnt her time to go.

Last year during duck season me and my uncle got through early and i wanted to walk a woodlot and see if i could get a deer. On the way out we walked up on what i thought was about 3 or 4 turkeys. I walked around and set up on an old farm road and my uncle walked around to try and push the birds to me. My 3 or 4 turkeys ended up bein 30 or 40! I just kinda sat there with all these birds about 7 yards away lookin back at my uncle. He was actually herding them to me. lol. Finally after about 3 minutes he yelled," You better shoot somethin!!!!!!!!" About that time every one of them jumped up and started flyin, so i took a shot at one in the air. He's never let me live that one down. This season im bound and determined to get a turkey, and a deer.

On the 3D course, I am still not sure if my release was not completely locked on, or if I bumped the trigger half way drawing my bow, hit myself in the eye, almost knocked myself out, what a shiner.

but the worst - two years ago over Thanksgiving we hunted the mornings, worked on cutting trees and tearing out an old fence to put a new one in mid-day then hunted in the evenings.

Ah well I did not notice the abundance of poision ivy in the trees being cut and the brush being cleared out. Note to self - when working in area heavily infected with poision ivy do not take a leak!

I had to fly out to Chicago for classes late Sunday evening. Cut the Sunday morning hunt short to make it to the Docotor. His words were "Oh my god I have never seen anything quite like that before" Typically I would have taken that as a compliment, but not in this case.

OK OK TWO SEASON AGO I WAS STANDING IN THE CROTCH OF A TREE IN AN UNEVENTFUL MORNING. WHEN I DECIDED TO GO IN FOR BREAKFAST ALL OF THE SUDDEN A GREAT BIG DOE RAN IN DIRECTLY UNDER MY STAND. SHE WAS FOLLOWED BY A TROPHY 4"WIDE PADDLE RACKED BUCK. I GOT SO EXCITED THAT WHEN I DREW BACK TO SHOOT I SLIPPED MY BOW RELEASED AND SPUN AROUND AND HIT ME IN THE UNMENTIONABLES WHICH CAUSED ME TO FALL OUT OF THE TREE AND GET HIT IN THE HEAD WITH MY PACK. GUESS WHAT I SAW THAT PADDLE RACK BUCK THE NEXT DAY WITH MY ARROW STUCK IN HIS RACK.
