Default White River National Forest

Does anyone hunt this area in Colorado? Just looking for access roads, info, etc. Thanks.

Do you have good topos of the area? I live & breath by them, especially in new territory. Also the Nat'l Forrest map.
A quick look can be done at topozone.com.
You can easily make out public roads, wetland draws, saddles from one drainage to another, etc.

Thanks for the replies. I do have some pretty good maps of the area. I'm in a lease in unit 12 and over the recent years I have been attracted to the White River area. A more specific question I have is - Are the access roads into the White River closed certain times of the year. And if so, what are the options for getting around.

The White river national forest is HUGE, so you will have to be a little more specific. However, most of the roads are only closed when snow closes them and opened again when the snow melts. If you have questions about certain roads in particular, call the White river National forest office. I have found them to be very helpful when you have specific questions.

There is certainlya lot of elk there, but the trick is to find a little hidey hole where other hunters don't go. Takes a lot of work over some years.
