The White river national forest is HUGE, so you will have to be a little more specific. However, most of the roads are only closed when snow closes them and opened again when the snow melts. If you have questions about certain roads in particular, call the White river National forest office. I have found them to be very helpful when you have specific questions.

There is certainlya lot of elk there, but the trick is to find a little hidey hole where other hunters don't go. Takes a lot of work over some years.
