Muzzleloader pronghorn tag filled
Four hours into my week long DIY pronghorn hunt I was done! I hunted Southeastern WY in the early muzz season. My brother and I started glassing at 7AM and spotted a nice buck by 8 AM. After a 1 1/12 hour stalk I had bagged my first antelope. We had to crawl 225 yards on our bellies through 14" grass/weeds to get within shooting distance. My long sleeve shirt had holes through both elbows and I had blood running down both arms. I made a 185 yard shot with my T/C Omega and that was all it took. Being that this is my first antelope I was not going to be picky, but this one turned out to be very nice (to me anyway). 12 1/2 inch horns and some pretty decent mass. I wish I had taken a digital camera to post the pics. Anyway, it was a fantastic hunt as we were serenaded by both coyotes and elk as we lay in our tent each night. The only downfall was paying $3 a gallon for gas in a 1998 F250 coming from Indiana. We estimated that we paid almost $1000 just in gas! I would do it again in a second!

Codglads on the hunt. Antelope hunting is just plain FUN. Lots of animals & the weather is usually pretty nice. As far as the price of gas----I won't & you should not either get in the way of hunting.
