I'm out agian tomorrow. Morning is public land and then drive back to private land for the evening hunt. I'm hoping......... for at least some meat. Best case scenario is doe in the morning and buck in the evening.

Well, as expected I didn't sleep worth a damn. You'd think I'd be old enough to put it all aside and get a good night's sleep but noooooooo. I'll give ya'll an update later this morning on how it goes. Good luck to you too Rob.

Well I hit the woods again today. Nothing is going my way yet. We were just getting to the public land on the trans Canada HWY and a semi had just rolled going in the opposite direction. The driver was just crawling out. So we stopped to make sure he was OK and then to stop traffic/re-route traffic until RCMP, Fire and ambulance crews got on scene. The truck was leaking diesel all over the place. The driver had some bruises and was bleading from his ears.......... It was a mess!
Needless to say we got to our stands late and not as fresh as we would have liked
Then we were supposed to go to my private land this evening but....... it was raining cats and dogs

My luck has to change soon

Glad to hear that the guy was ok.
That's what's great about hunting. Who knew you would be out directing traffic when you should have been on stand--then get rained out in the afternoon.
You still have a long season ahead--most of us haven't even gotten started yet.

Well my weekend wasn't a strange as Rob's. Monday morning was a pretty morning...70 degrees and foggy. We didn't see a dang deer all morning. Monday evening there were plenty of deer that came to the beans but no shooters. I saw 3 does, a fawn, and 5 spikes. I've never seen that many spikes in one sitting. It was in the mid/upper 80s so that didn't help I'm sure. I'm going to try and make the drive up to the farm sometime this week after work. It's a pretty good haul from my office up there but I'm sure the itch will get to me and I'll make the trip. I was really looking forward to hunting up there this weekend but it looks like Hurricane Hanna is making a beeline for South Carolina. We'll see how that goes.
