Guys, it's my ultimate wish that this be as fun as possible. Even this year with all the hoopla surrounding some incidents I see as much camoradorie (sp) as any year we've held it, perhaps more so. The smacktalk is priceless, the friendships cherished etc...the contest is what you make of it. It can be connections to new hunting spots, equipment, techniques etc. I've made some lifelong friendships from the contest and hope to make more.

One thing I cannot stress enough is that there needs to be rules and those rules need to be followed. As much fun as it is for eveyone, I need to have fun too or my wife would hand you guys my hide on a skillet.

You cannot even fathom the PM's and emails I receive during the contest period. I'm lucky to keep my job or at least, lucky to keep my inbox cleared or no one could get through to me. I'm overwhelmed at times and I appreciate all the volunteers. Mobow, thank you as well as the other mods.

Hopefully we can move on now and enjoy the rest of the contest. It's not over guys.

Will Team Reverse the Curse hold onto the lead or is Team 17 still in the fight. What about several other teams that are biting on the heels. A couple good bucks down and Team 29 could fall.

Will GregH's monster hold on? What about the regional big bucks, will anyone shave their head per GR8's dare?>

Or atleast amend it, so that anybody going on a trip that is longer than 14 days, can give notification oftripbefore they go, so they can enter buck after the trip!

Rob, just for clarification on Rule 9a (which I like, BTW)......let's say someone can't get to a computer for a couple weeks, and shoots a buck....They call their team captain, who in turn makes a post, or notifies you, that adam has shot a buck....Does the score need to be included, along w/ pics and so forth, or is that just reporting the buck which buys the time needed for adam to come home, measure said deer and "officially" post it?

And you're welcome, anytime bro.

Notification alone is fine. No score necessary as that is what takes the time usually. Just a hey, I got one for the contest and a description.

I'll use me for an example. Next year I'm going to IL for the rut, Nov 10th through the 15th. Let's say I shoot a buck in PA on the last hour before I leave for the trip. The way it is this year, immorally I could not report it and go on my trip in hopes of taking an IL giant and come home, enter it and never mention my PA buck. How sad that would be right? With this rule I call someone to post that I got one, let's say an 8 point and when I come home with a 10 from IL, my 8 still stands.

OR, me again...when I hunt with GMMAT in NC in Sept next year I shoot a basket 8....don't tell anyone and then hunt PA and then IL and I dont' get. Wouldn't it be wrong at that point to say oh by the way, I shot this 8 point in Sept and I'm entering it. This way if I didn't report it, no go...reporting it will secure to everyone that I am not hunting for a bigger buck which wouldn't be fair to everyone who only gets one tag and has a 60" buck entered.

We should never let anyone have a buck to "fall back on" if we don't get a better one.

We are just trying to make it even across the board. First buck only.
