Team goal- For everyone to shoot what they are happy with, preferably that it is even larger than they had hoped.

Individual goal- To shoot a mature buck scoring in the 130’s or better. Not to say that if I misjudge in the field that a 120’s won’t make me happy either. I’ve seen a couple this year that may push 150, so I have some potential to hit it big. I also have a goal to take at least 1 doe with traditional gear, and at least 5 does overall. 6-8 would be even better. I will be spending a little time hunting Ohio as well, and my buck goal minimums will be mature 120+ there, and also to just learn more about the land I am hunting.

Hello team, sorry i havent been around lately, was in St. Thomas for the last 2 weeks fishing for blue marlin, what a blast. Anyhow, getting pumped up for the season, have seen some nice bucks on some of the properties that i hunt, so its hopefully going to be a good one. The season starts this Sat, Sept. 8th, man i cant wait. I think i have a good plan, depending on the wind, im going to going into one of 2 funnels that i cant seem to make up my mind about yet, they are only about 100 yards apart, but its a toss up which one the deer use that day. Time will tell. I have to harvest a doe before i get my buck, so that is the goal for openning morning. After that, im going to hold out for hopefully my first pope and young, or something in the high 1teens.
Where do i get our team logo and how do i put it on my page? Im not the most computer savy, so any help is appreciated.

Good to hear your Dad's back doing great Dave.

Njbuck, sounds like that would be an awesome trip. Got any pics?

Put a couple stands up Sat. morning and while going from one to another seen a very good buck probably in the range of high 140's - high 150's. Looked to be andten pointwith a high rack and long tines still in velvet. Haven't seen any bucks yet with their velvet off.

As for my goals this year, hope everyone has a safe hunting season. My personal goal is for a mature buckbetween 130 and higher. Try also to take 3 - 4 does, two for myself and one or two for family and friends. Will definetly shoot the first good doe that comes by.

Chris, thanks for the help with the logo. Hows everyone making out? ALittle quiet on here lately. As for me, im going crazy over here, my season starts on sat and the time is inching by. Planning to hunt a 50 acre parcel that my family owns, there are some great bucks on the property, but i will have to shoot a doe first. There have been alot of does around all summer, and there is a large population of acorn trees on the top of one ridge that im planning on hunting if the wind is right. With any kind of luck, monday morning ill be able to post some pics of our first deer of the season.

My personal goals for 07: Main goal, to have fun and enjoy myself as much as I can this year. As for the deer, id like to set my goals a bit higher than lastyear. Last year I harvested a nice 8 pointer that I was very proud of. He only scored around 120 or so but still a great buck with an enormous body. I will take anything 8 points or bigger and hoping for at least a 130 class buck this year. Im getting the itch. only 9 days away.

Hey guys,
A little short term bad news. My best spot is being logged. It started this week. Don't know how long they are going to be in there, but pretty much the entire place is a huge bedding area, so its going to be all tore up. HUGE curve right before the season. Going to have to work extra hard this year. wish I'd have known this was coming with a little more warning.

Sorry to hear that Rybo, on the plus side though I have hunted areas around logged forrest/plots and you would be surprised how good it can be. I am not sure of your setup but if you sit back a few moments and think of were the deer will go I am sure you can find a good ambush spot. Goodluck buddy.

I've killed deer, just minutes after a skidder drove by, but I wouldn't think that to be the norm(it was the rut). The big (only) draw of the area is that it is a thick bedding area. And after the loggers are done and for the future it will be great again, I'm just a bit unsure as to how much they will want to still bed near all the cutting & activity now.

Rybo, i personally have never hunted an area that was logged so i cant comment on it, but i hear that it can be a great spot. Either way, you will figure it out and put another big boy on the ground.
On a good note, within 24 hours i will hopefully be dragging my doe out of the woods at this time. I am very confident in my spot and it looks like the wind is going to be perfect for the stand i want to hunt, so keep your fingers crossed. Everything is ready, all i need to do is get through this day of work, was the truck, eat a good dinner and get some sleep ( not going to be easy). 2007 season he we come!
