Hey everybody, how was your weekends, I finally got back home, long trip, will get some pics up of the second antelope..Had truck problems on the way home, delayed us a couple of days..
I got home to 76 messages on the machine, alot were from friends saying they are finding dead deer everywhere, a total of 19 in 2 states and 4 different counties, one guy called and said he found 3 , all were over 150" and the biggest is in the 190's..He is going to bring it by this week..Guess it is the dreaded blue tongue..
Well I get to hunt this weekend on the farm in Missouri, I am pumped...

Well, I havn't taken a shot yet, but I've had some great hunts in KY. I haven't had the chance to go out a lot, but have seen quite a bit of deer activity when out. The first 2 days of season, bucks were everywhere and in full velvet. Velvet is gone now. So far, the only shot opportunities were small bucks andTHE CLUB. He's a 7 pointer. 6 points on one side and a huge club on the other that's close to 19 inches long and probably 6 or 7 inches around...most of the way out!

One of these days I'm going to post the pic of my EHD buck. He was nice for a year and a halfer. My brother on up in IL found a 155 incher floating in a pond. Several of his neighbors have found many big deer too. He's worried his taxidermy business is going to suffer this year. He may be right.

The early woodduck/teal Season comes in Wednesday in KY, so I will hopefull head that way. Went by our regular spot today, and due to the drought was able to watch a flock of turkey's in the middle of what is usually chest deep slough. Oh well, its going to be an interesting fall.

As reported earlier, we got food plots in last week and have had a slight sprinkle since then. Soil was damp enough that it should be about to pop out. I sure hope so. Hope you all are enjoying or are about to enjoy the hunt.

That video is cool. I'm going to have to enter the electronic era, that just looks like tons of fun.

As an aside. Did go shoot woodies this morning. 3 guys, 3 limits! And a mountain of empty hulls. This warm spell will have me spending my time working most of this week. No need in wasting all of my kitchen passes just yet.

Hunt safe.

About 2 weeks ago we got a small set of showers that brough almost an inch. So. Its still pretty dry. Maybe Monday or Tuesday acc. to the weather man. I think if we do get some rain, our foodplots will go nuts. It will be just a tad closer to the opening day than I'd like, butwhat can you do.
