Go to your county's website. They may or may not have one. Or Google "[your county name] county gis"
ex: Ozaukee Map

I was duck hunting tonight and I saw two bucks come out maybe 100 or 150 yards out ( hard to judge) up the river. From what I could tell one was a monster and the other was maybe a 1.5. It kind of looked like they were sparring, but they were probably just drinking. i'm psyched because I can hunt that buck (Both of my grandparents live in the area and I can hunt their neighbors' farms and land) even though the buck was kind of right in between the areas. I may take a look around and hunt a little there later.

The afternoon hunt yesterday with my nephew was a lot of fun.We saw tree doe's and had them all within 25 yards.I was attempting to talk my nephew through a shot on one of the doe's.He had the smallest doe within 15 yards but he said to me that he didn't want to take it.The doe was 11/2 in my estimation. It was exciting and fun and I think my nephew is hooked. He really enjoyed having deer that close to us without them having any idea that we were there.
This mornings hunt was slow, the same tree that I saw 8 or 9 deer out of yesterday I saw three out of today and all from quite a distance and all much later in the morning. Two doe's and a small buck.Gusty winds seemed to have the deer nerved up this morning.
Jerrod, good luck getting set up on that nice buck you saw!

Wow, a 165 was just added. Nice buck.

Scot, what a great time. I bet he can't wait to get out again.

Anyone have any bucks close this weekend?

Brad,

You and your wife do make a good couple. Congrats to your father too. Any buck is a trophy. And as we get older that becomes truer and truer.

Nathan & Scot,

How did the weekend go?

So, I've been following a 2 time per location in the area I'm hunting and decided to give a spot I hunted a previous evening a morning try. total waste of time. I should have went to the oaks that I've left alone since the first weekend. Saturday morning on the way to duck hunting my brother almost ran over a huge buck with drop tines. We rounded a bend in the road and I saw the body first. The deer was easily 200 lbs and the rack was heavy and wide. Shot a few teal and went archery hunting Sat evening. The only thing I saw were about 20 turkeys. The weather was pleasant though. Spent today wiring my brother's new porch instead of hunting. Muzzle-loader season is going to ruin my next 2 weekends at the Ft so I have to either hunt PA or take the 2 weeks off to get prepared for the rut and then take a few days off of work and hunt heavy.

This has been a disappointing year so far with all of the sign I saw in the area I'm hunting and all the sign I see when I'm in the woods. I guess that is why it is called hunting and not shooting.

The good news is that the Gorilla climber I bought is awesome. I was 20' up a tree with no effort at all and in no time at all.

Nate that sucks! I hope you get it back. Was it insured somehow that you could claim the $$$?

Dave your brother should have put the petal to the metal. Jk. Was it in the ft?

I don't think the farm where the bucks I saw would let me hunt. I think my grandpa or dad has asked before. But it wouldn't hurt to ask I guess.

Nathan that sucks about your quad. I hope the person that stole it misses a turn and slams into a tree.

If he would have it the gas we would have had a whole lot of venison. It never hurts to ask people if you can hunt their land. You may need to offer services to them and see what happens. don't show-up in camo.

Good Morning everyone,
Had a fun hunt yesterday afternoon with my nephew. We were in a tight spot and the wind was blustery.I am having such fun being out there with my nephew,he is really enjoying getting so close to deer and being able to witness their behavior. We saw three deer yesterday afternoon, all doe's all of them at one point walked directly underneath us.Two came in quickly from behind us and I explained to Ryan that when you hear deer coming and they are coming quickly you have to stand up right away, they were on us fast and when he did try to stand up one of the doe's pinned us.To his credit he stood perfectly still and they calmed down, they never settled completely,so I advised Ryan not to attempt a shot, between the wind blowing and them wondering what those two funny looking things in the tree were, attempting to shoot wasn't a good idea.Another lone doe came in just at last light, and stayed underneath us so long we were in the tree in the dark waiting for her to feed out of the area.
Ryan is absoluting loving it.I couldn't be happier!

Scot,

Sounds like you 2 had a great hunt. That would be pretty cool watching a young hunter's face and reactions to having deer that close. You did the smart thing passing up the shots with them being so jittery. They'll be back around again.

RE: 19-Official Team Quiet Arrow Thread

Nathan, I'm sorry about the 4-wheeler. I prayed you would get it back undamaged. Scot, that's awesome. I have 4 nephews that live in CA and we have a tradition that when each of them turn 10 they fly out and go hunting with me. So far the 2 older ones did when they were 10 and they were in my top 5 hunting trips. I had so much fun, didn't get a deer with either one but came close to gettinga doe with both. Nothing like hunting with kids.

Well guys, this is the week. I'll be crossing off my check list, doing to-dos on my lunch breaks and evening to get everything ready for Sat. I live 1.5 hours away from my hunting spot in Vinita, OK. I'll be out there about 2p for the evening hunt. Needless to say I'm excited. The weather is awesome here today, 60 degrees and will only be a high of 70. Hoping for good weather on Sat.

Mike,

Good luck this weekend. Someone on our team needs to get a buck. One of the best huntsI had was taking an ex-girlfriend out and seeing her face when squirrels and such came close. The funny part is that she wanted to shoot them.

Nathan,
I had meant this morning to mention how sorry I was to hear about your four wheeler being stolen! I hope that it is either recovered or you had insurance coverage on it,or both.
It is a darn shame that our property cannot be safe. I wish you the best on positive things happening as far as getting it back!

My 7 year old is learning Psalm 91 right now and I was talking to her at breakfast about the hunt this Saturday. She said "daddy the bible talks about a bow and arrow, it says that we will not be afraid of the terror by night nor the arrow that flies by day". I said that needs to be what the deer is saying on Saturday when the arrow flies. She laughed and said I know you will get one you always get one. I said I've only got one with a bow though, she said don't worry God will help you get one.

I had to share that, what a precious moment where hunting and kids come together.
