Hi Fellows,
I'm Tsoc,I live in the Hudson Valley in New York state.Definitely not a big buck mecca. Our bow season starts on 10/15.I wont bow hunt as much this year as I will be leaving on my annual out of state rifle hunt on November 8th or 9th.
I will give it all I got with the time I have and will bring the bow out either when I get back from being away or in the late archery season if I havn't tagged out.
I look forward to getting to know all of you and wish you all good luck!My preference is not to be captain if no one minds. This is my first year participating.

RE: 19-Official Team 19 Thread

Scot,

Thanks for the move. I thought about that after I'd put up the post.

I'm 36 living in Maryland and hope to stick on of the big bucks I see either around Baltimore or on the Eastern Shore. I plan on Archery hunting every weekend and even will hunt in Western PA for about a week this year.

Hopefully, with all that hunting I'll stick a nice one. If not, I'll get to spend a lot of time out in the woods for the first time in a few years.

I just got a new rig this year and have been shooting a lot. So, if I blow a shot at a buck feel free to rib me about it. :D

I'm good with any team name that sounds good and I guess we better pick a captain. I'm cool with one of the senior HNI guys doing it if they want to since they know the rules a little better than I do or I have no problem doing it.

I looking forward to getting to know you guys and having a good time. Are any of you thinking about ordering the shirts that are being made for anyone to buy or do you think we need something just for us?

By the way. What the heck is a Yooper?

Dave, I think it is an Upper Penninsula Michigan resident. Either that or something that comes out of your nose.:D
I'm kidding! I have much respect for tradition, especially when it relates to hunting.

Now that's funny stuff. I already see that we have good guys with great humors.

What type of rigs do you guys have and how long have you been archery hunting?

I started archery hunting in Western PA in 1986. I've had shots at a few nice bucks but always seemed to have something happen that prevented me from actually shooting. The deer in PA seem to know to look up in trees from an early age. I've had them stop with the vitals behind trees or have someone else spook them. Or, when I was 18 I forgot how to use my release on the biggest buck I've ever seen in real life while hunting.

Hopefully, that doesn't happen to me anymore and I can contribute to the team.

Maybe we can figure out a common interest that can be used for a team name?

I see some recognizable names in your team list. We'll give them some time. Remember I picked early...I'm sure we'll get them checked in, if not, we have some great names in standby.

RE: 19-Official Team 19 Thread

I've emailed everyone on our team to give me an email back and only have gotten2 replies. From Brad and Mike Poole (WV Hunter). Mike said that's he's swamped with work right now and won't be on-line that much.

I didn't know about the thread sign in so didn't post a link. If the rest of the guys don't check in by tomorrow I'll drop them a PM with the link to our thread.

I've mostly hunting public land in PA and MD. However, over the past few years I've hunted some private land on the Eastern Shore but it's not set-up too much for deer. I did get the buck in my avatar there though about 4 yrs ago with my rifle. It's the biggest buck I've ever shot with rifle or bow.

I'm excited about this year. A guy I just started shooting bow with at the range offered me a lease on his dad's place on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. They have an 8 pt minimum and he's shown me a few really nice bucks. The one is going to be officially scored and is probably in the 160's.

RE: 19-Official Team 19 Thread

Nate,

Glad to see you made it. Also glad to see a young hunter. Sounds like you have the deer lined-up.

Looks like we are starting to round the troups up. When does everyone's season start? Maryland's starts Sept 15.

One post is not exactly a lot of posting. However, if they signed in for the contest that must mean they'll show-up to join in on our fun.

I like the team name. However, I'd bet that someone has thought about using it before.

Nathan,

Are you in Pennsylvania out near Pittsburgh. I grew-up in Johnstown, PA. Alleghany has some big bucks.

We have 4 out of our 10 signed in. We're slowy getting there.

With the areas that a few of our guys are hunting we have a good chance. If you look at the winner last year they all had deer like the one in my avatar.

We do alot of our hunting together, should make things interesting as I am on another team.:DHey Dave, got that QAD Ultra Proworking awesome, great rest. Good luck to you all this season.:)

Shane,

That's cool that he doesn't post that much. As long as he joins in the festivities with the rest of us. It's all about getting to know other people from on HNI and having fun.

Glad to hear the rest is working.I love mine and have figured out how to tweak it pretty easily to correct minor issues. Now i just need Big Papa Pump (as my brother likes to call any big deer) step into my shooting lane.

Which Wac'em heads do you have? The Exits or the Triton XL's? I couldn't find the Triton XL's anywhere and even had to cancel an online order due to being out of stock.

Good luck to you too and have fun in the woods.:D

RE: 19-Official Team 19 Thread

I havn't checked emails I will do that in a moment.I hunt mostly public land with a few private area's thrown in.A real good buck in my home area is 100 inches.I have seen possibly two bucks in all the years that I have lived here that would top 120 inches.Neither of those was during hunting season.
As far as a name goes,I would opt for something humble and not graphic.Just my opinion and I will abide by the consensus of what everyone else wishes.

i think that weve got a really good chance at winning as long as our average is about 90" which is certainly attainable by the way we still need a name:eek:

RE: 19-Official Team 19 Thread

i like my Exists a great deal. Very tough and easy to sharpen the tip. the blades themselves are very sharp. More people need to start looking at the Wac'ems.

Nathan,

Think of some names and drop them in here. I'd like to wait until we have at least half the guys sign in unless the name is a good one. If it's good enough the 4 of us that have signed in will just agree on it.

Possible names..... Team Chest Pain,Team Buck's Nightmare,Team Quiet Arrow. These pretty much suck but I'll keep trying.
I am looking to make a point but be dignified about it.

i like tsoc's "quiet arrow" idea and then i thought about something like "fletched death" or something about how we are just average hunters and not "pros" but i really do like tsoc's "quiet arrow" one by the way i think dave should still be team captian

I am in agreement about Dave being Captain. He was asking for suggestions and I was just throwing a couple out there.

Im not too picky on the team names just a couple suggestions "team tall tines", "team heart hunters". I like team "quite Arrow" the one tsoc suggested. I think once we get a bunch of suggestions we should have a vote on who likes what.
