Yeah I got the message too. I scouted mynew location and put up my tree stand yesterday. The trails around it are so beat down, if I wouldn't have known any better, I would have thought it was cattle.

Things are warming up boys! I tel you what, talking to John was an absolute pleasure. What a supre nice guy and I was super impressed with his in depth knowledge of the deer he hunts. I loved listening to him teach me about deer hunting in Texas. Congrats to him on what sounds like a great, mature Texas buck!!!

As we speak the 3 big boys that were hanging out together this summer are back together and on my land. I am going home early this afternoon to try to cut them off getting out of the bedding area. One of them is the 12-point in the picture I posted this past weekend, and one of his partners is bigger than him. Wish me luck.

Well boys, I had the first 3 days of season off from work. Hunted 2 mornings and 3 evenings. So hot you could grill backstraps on the platform of my stand. LOL
I had no luck. I saw 2 does after legal shooting hours Monday night. 15 yds from me, but not able to make them out other than deer with no antlers. Too dark to risk a poor shot. I also got to see another one of my friends Monday morning. Another Copperhead about 3 ft long. Man I hate snakes. Anyway, I am hoping to get out a couple more times this week. Temp's are staying from low 70's to high 80's. I hate hot weather hunting, but I am after them none-the-less.

Congrats to tex on the 8pt. Can't wait to see some pics and us on the board. Hope everyone else scores as well.

Godspeed,

LT

Well Guys I decided to come back early and save a couple of these vacation days until the weather gets cooler. Hunting when it is 90+ is a pain....LOL. Here are a couple of additional pics of the buck. Not a monster but ended up at 112 4/8. Good luck everyone.

Hey Wheatley, how'd the hunt go? Is it safe to assume you are busy posting pics of your P&Y bull?

John, great job my friend. Everyone is fearing us once again thanks to you.
