Congrats to all your hunting partners. For me i havent been seing to much. If i never told ya'll yet about "Mr.Poper" i almost got a chance at him. I was at full draw and he only needed to walk 5 more feet and i could ahad him. but a fourwheeler came threw the woods and scared him out. I was one angry guy that night! But i set up right on top of where he is marking his territory with scrapes and what not so hopefully i'll get a chance at him. He gotta score atleast 160. Good luck to all.
yep, that sucks. I had a similar outing last Friday night. That is what keeps up going back. Here is my story.
I just happend to be standing in my stand and facing behind my stand and saw a shadow move and then a whole lot of antler. I pulled back when it was 20 yards away in all the nasty stuff (the only place I absoultly couldn't get a shot). He was going to walk right by at 10 yards if he keep his course. Well, he stopped and I didn't know what was up? I held the bow back for what seemed like 2 minutes and no movement. I was thinking to myself, where did he go? was he still there and I just couldn't see him? is it worth the risk to get the binocs out? well, I stayed still and about 5 minutes later he stood up. yep, that is right this big guy I am after bedded down 20 yards from me and I couldn't get a shot. I saw him stand up and walk away from me. I grunted quick and he stopped but never came back my way.

Bow season is over for me for a few weeks. Gun season starts here next weekend and the unit I am in it runs until Dec. 10. I sure hope that guy makes it through the gun season.

congrats Western and Leverdude! Big G, sounds like you're a great guide

Too Bad Buck!!! That had to be intense!

I missed a spike last night! :) Came in 30 yards... I just clean shot under him. I must have dropped my arm or something.... Just don't know what happened.

I'm back first off nice bulls buckknife .good looking buck West.I hunted my butt off and never drew on a buck ,all total I saw around 40 bucks ,passed on 12 ,5 were 8 points all 2 1/2 years olds the largest was 115" at 8 yards, the big boys were always beyond 40 yards. I saw about 10 bucks in the 140 to 170 class no odd racks this year.Yesterday I get up at day light to drive home I open my camper door and at 100 yards stand a good buck I binoke him he's a 6x6 so I get out the spoting scope and look him over he's over 170" and not 1 inch of deductions what a buck to drive away from he was still standing there with 2 does and a busted 8 pt. I was aloud to camp in that bar parking lot but couldn't hunt there ,I was driving to public land to hunt.If any of you guys have not hunted the mid west don't do its to addicting and home will look like a waste of time.I would love to hunt on privite ground ,the pressure is to much some days.I'm ready to start knocking on some farmers doors and make some offers.good hunting to all .

Thats stinks Buck....I hope he makes it to...
Bow season is over for me here so sorry I couldn't help
out. We have a mid Dec. muzzleloader/bowseason here,
but I take my son muzzy hunting instead.

I got back from CT Friday. I saw total of 12 deer and 5 bucks.
2 were SMASHERS!!! 1 was a 8 point that my friend got that scored
136 5/8 and the last was a 10 point that would have scored in the
140's. I could have taken some does, but I know the area we hunt
has some nice bucks. The bucks as of last week were not on the
does that much.....they should be soon though.

Buck, I just got my tags for Wis. I well be out your way the 25 of Nov.
We are hoping to get some good bucks on video. I have hunted the mid.
west but never Wis so this will be fun.

Wes. sorry about the spike. When is your gun season?

Good Luck,
G

NY Rifle starts this Sat (11/18). Mass shotgun starts Monday 11/27. I will be gun hunting from then to the end of Dec. between Shotgun & Muzzleloader.
Heading to NY Sat for the opener and am heading out by Lake Ontario Mid December w/ the smokepole. I'm going to take my TC Omega inline and hopefully fill a tag w/ that opening am... then switch to the old smooth bore for the rest.
Heading out w/ the bow tonight & tomorrow and a couple more nights next week w/ hopes of sticking that spike, a doe, or truthfully whatever comes by!

HI Fellas.....Just got home last night from the farm....sorry, nothing yet with my bow but I will be back in a tree with my bow the day after Thanksgiving. After 18 days of hunting, my loving family thought I should come home, see them, pay some bills and cook Thanksgiving dinner![:@] Our gun season ends tomorrow in Missouri. I was blessed to take a great 11 point and a doe with my Weatherby 30-06. I have a doe tag left for rifle, so I will use it during doe only Dec. 9th. thru 19th. I can now take two bucks with my bow so hopefully I will be lucky enough and blessed to get one.
My pictures are on the Archers Choice Forum since I can't seem to figure out how to post them myself. I sent them to Hardcorehunter and he posted them for me. His wife, Sarah, killed an awesome Iowa 9 point with her bow. Unfortunately for us, she's on team 3.
Hope all of you guys are doing good.....just remember, it's all really about being outdoors and enjoying yourself.........yeah right!
Good luck and hunt safe.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving
Diann
