West, The hunting is pretty good. We just baught 138 ac. of land
around us. I have been seeing a nice 8 and a few smaller bucks inthe fields. The deer are comming back alittle. It's not like Mass or CT though..... I live about 30 min above Barrie. It's nice up here. sd, You do have some nice deer down there. I'll be back this year for muzzleloader season. I took 2 doe last year, but know there are some really good bucks with all the sign I saw. West, I believe you can take 3 deer in the southern zone, 2 in the middle part and 1 in the north. All can be does or 1 buck and the rest does I believe..... Lev, How are the acorns. Is it a good crop this year. I will be there next week. Save some for me. Hope it gets colder. We had our first frost this morning. G |

WisBow, where in WI are you hunting?
Season opens on Saturday here. I checked my trial camera last night and got some good pictures. I have a good 9 pointcoming aroundA LOT. I think I will let him pass if he comes by early in the season. Actually, I have to take a doe first to earn my buck tag so that is my first goal....take a doe. Here are 2 pictures of the 9 point that is hanging around. |

RE: 15- Team Official Thread
Hi fellas......we are finally back from Canada. I spent right at 70 hours in a tree in 7 days and DID NOT SEE ONE BEAR......what a bummer. My friend Sarah (Hoytgirl) got a 230# boar that was awesome. There's a picture on the bow hunting site and also on Archers Choice Forum. My husband drew on one but it didn't work out and Don (Hardcorehunter) nailed one. We looked for his for 3 hours in the bush and then it started raining. The bush is tough enough but with the rain, it was impossible. The leaves and moss on the ground were starting to turn red so with the rain we literally had to touch everything we thought might be blood. Anyway, it was such a blast that we booked back for next year. The country is beautiful and the outfitter was great. The accommodations could have been a little better......A very BAD trailer in the back of a truck stop in the middle of no where. No TV, cell phones didn't work, ON Star didn't work. The next closest town in any direction was 100 miles. We did manage to find some Crown Royal however!! A girl needs to relax after a day in the bush with a bow....waiting for a bear.....all by herself.....sitting 17.5 yards from a pile of donuts!! YIKES...what was I thinking. We took fishing tackle but never made it to the water. Guys there from Ohio caught some small mouth that were anywhere from 3 to 6 pounds....no kidding. The Canadians don't fish for smallies so they get huge! Sarah also saw a wolf her first day and we heard a couple of moose but never saw them. Anyway, now I'm ready for bow hunting season on white tail. It opens Friday, however we may not make it to the farm until the 22nd. Daughter has a reception for admittance into nursing school this Sunday and I don't want to be a bad mom[:@]
Good luck and hunt safe. Diann |

Sounds like an adventure Mom!
Hoytgirl's bear is a beauty. Great story too. Congrats to her. Bow season doesn't start hear till October 23... I believe... i will have to double check. Been out bear hunting... No luck. Seeing lots of fresh sign, but no bears. 1 more week. I will probably only get out one or 2 more times. A couple of buddies have never shot bears... so I am trying to get them up there as much as possible. |
