Nice buck, DL55! That's a good sized deer - gonna be some nice steaks off that ole boy. Good work!
Hopefully, I'll lighten your load shortly. Lots of sign - scraping like mad going on around me. Gonna doctor up a couple and set a little trap this weekend. I haven't seen much for a few days. I did, however, see some @sshole out shining last night. Lousy poacher. I wish I could have got his license plate number; both my local police and the Ontario MNR could have paid him a vist.

Nice job dl55!!
I took a small doe Sunday after noon at 2:30. I was putting together my summit stand when a doe walked up on me 20 yards away. I had to put my release on and nock an arrow. double lunged it on a perfect shot. Never did find the arrow. First deer I've taken from the ground.

Fun morning here. First off, we had our first snowfall of the year overnight. Sure did make things stand out nicely against the white background.
I was at my favorite rock (6 feet high and bigger length and width) just before daylight. Shortly afterward, a doe and fawn wandered past at about 200 yards. Then a lone doe came past me within bow range, but they don't open until Nov 25. But THEN a set of antlers appears from the other side of the rock as a 4x3 buck almost steps into my lap. He passed by me at 7 yards and I'm plastered to the rock trying to look like a piece of granite. Once he was 20yards out, he gave me a nice quartering away shot. I'm just about to draw and out steps another buck, this one a spike. I can't move as he goes by and the bigger buck, meanwhile, is moseying into the woods. Close but no cigar.
The bucks are starting to show up much more now and the action will be hot pretty soon. Gonna get funner and funner.
