My trail cam only had pictures of deer and coons!!! LOL the birds are skeered of me. I moved the camera to where they hang out. I was hoping to catch their entry point into the field. I think I have it narrowed down. I also just picked up 40 acres in Brown County....we'll see.

This weekend may be a tough one. Calling for rain/snow with temps in the 30's and 40's. Worst part is there also calling for 25 to 35 mph winds. I've had success in a downpour before so I'm still going to try and get out there to get one.

If I remember right ol' Arrowmaster will be sending one your way. He is the official sticker mailman. The only question I have is how in the world can WI season open before ours????? That is crazy! LOL

Going to try and beat the weather tomorrow. They are calling for wind rain and then snow from 2 to 6 inches. Hopefully the turkeys are on the move before the storm. I have to say though, so far this spring weather sucks!!

Looked on the cam and nothing but deer....I have had 7 Toms in that same pasture this spring already..we'll see.

Is there a certain bird you need to see? I have some special birds for you :) No there are turkeys. I had one year that I blew 3 different birds on one day....very young and inexperienced. Anyway That day I set up first thing and had 6-8 gobblers going at it at first light. You will like where we are going.

Yes Fire Im ready to go now. The wife told me tonight Im close to full turkey mode. I told her I thought I was already there and she said no. She told me the last week before season I reach my peak. hahahahaha:D:D:DIm only going to get worse hahahahaha

Could my luck get any worse??? I'll make this short. Very windy but found some birds. Took a 30 yard shot at a jake and went just under him, but my arrow did have feathers and just a touch of beard on it. Then found some more birds, between 50 and 75 all in a group. At least half were toms all fanned out. Got behind a big tree and tried calling. For 45 minutes they ignored me. Then 3 broke away and headed towards me. As 1 was coming up the hill I drew back and the bird stopped just on the other side of the tree about 10 yards out. All i could see down my sights was a beak and a double beard. I needed him to step just 1 more foot out, but he must of seen my decoys and turned and starte walking back. I let off, stood up and he was 15 yards out when I drew again. I shot and I heard a noise and my arrow went 10 feet over him. I tried to put another arrow in but nothing lined up. Found out that as I drew the 2nd time a branch got between my limb and cam and when I shot it jumped the string off my cam. SO with all those birds out there all I could do is say, "Might as well go home."

I am not there either but I am close....Just wish I could get the birds figured out...Starting to worry me a little. They are not where I thought they'd be....yet

Mottz you can do it. Sounds like an experience though. I have had those days..actually had 3 birds one day (Different birds) that I screwed the hunt up on. The first was at first light...moved. Second was mid morning...I couldn't get it over the hill all the way and the third was after lunch and I called he gobbled while I was at a T...instead of dropping where I was I thought I have to get over there...busted...

Since i have been nice and not beenposting in your team thread for a while,i'm here to say that i'm done with that.You will lose this contest hands down,no matter how many states,tags,caged birds(arrow)you have, it will not matter.

Hey bro how you tonight have you done the intervention with HH and HJ yet? LOL Less than 2 weeks....I can't wait. I may take HH down to my private ground to check my camera if he has time. I also have a seminar to go to Thursday night at the Outdoorsman in Greenwood; my buddy Carl Drake is giving it. He placed 7th in the nation in the owl division at the NWTF Convention...He did 5th a few years back. I hope I can learn something helpful!!

I have learned to listen to that gut feeling....little quiet voice. If I had a few years back I would have or my brother in law would have killed a nice Tom. I called and wasn'tready..just walking along. Gut said set up...I didn't and called and Tom walked out looked right at us and flew to the next ridge while Jim and I looked open mouthed at him leave....hard lesson but one I remember.

Ole Tom and Jerry brought me up a turkey. Im sure I'll have a couple roosted birds in my woods before the weekend is out hehehehe
