What do you mean naming the guns? I thought thats what this thread was all about? [&:] I happen to be very proud of my collection because they're all mine, each one tended to and customized to my liking. I bought them all with my own hard-earned. I've painted a few since the picture was taken, my .270 is now in multi-cam and Badgerboy painted one of his AR-15s coyote tan. We can strip them down to a pile of metal and put them back together without once referencing anything. I know all of their little parts and pieces like they were my own children. A little obsessed? Maybe, but still a proud mama
I do have pet-names for them too if you'd like to know those
. I forgot to mention that I also keep a Mossberg Maverick 88 12g. in my apartment. She's got an 8 round mag w/ a heat shield and iron sights. She's loaded with the first two shots being 00 rubber buck shot, bird shot, next is 00 law enforcement grade buck shot, then rifled slugs following. She's purely for self-defense.
Iron sights are the only way to go IMO. Moreover, lever-actions are the best way to go. Scope narrows your field of view and is generally uncomfortable. I've never used a dot sight, but will probably put one on one of the AR-15s.

i dont mind a red dot, the only thing i dont like about them is the battery factor??? but then again i dont know much about red dot scopes maybe that iosnt much of a problem.......actually my mother had a red dot scope on her 308 she shot her moose w/
tracking deer in close quarters shooting i wouldnt want anything else then a peepsight or irons. plus, it sometimes i think some guns carry weird w/ a scope on them.

I use a Pro-line youth bow which we got used. It's 30 pound pull. That's what I got my deer with last year. (There's no draw weight limit in Michigan, luckily for me.) I've been practicing with a Bear take down recurve, (25 pound pull) that we also got used. I'm still working on my accuracy with it.
My husband has quite a few guns, many of them antiques. Two of my favorites are 98 Mausers, one with the Czech royal crest and another made for the Persians, (Iran now) with the royal crest and all the markings in Farsi. There are some handguns too. Most of them are made by Czechoslovenska Zbrojovka in what is now the Czech Republic. We have a CZ 97, .45 ACP, which he bought new. It's unbelievably accurate. One of my favorites is a Hawken style muzzleloader with a double set trigger. I love to shoot it. The heavier guns work best for me because they have less recoil.
We have a Colt King Cobra (.357 magnum) with a Leupold red dot scope. Our Winchester 94 also has a scope. The scopes are for my husband's benefit. The iron sights are a little fuzzy for him. It's hard for me to believe I never even thought about guns or hunting until I met my husband not even two years ago.

I have major plans to expand on my collection in the future. NYS just passed the 50 cal. ban, and never specified whether shotguns are in or out, so I'll be stocking up. Also on muzzleloaders before the ban takes full effect and they stop selling them. My next purchase will probably be an old coach gun, a sawed off double barrel break action 12 or 10 gauge. After that I'll be getting a butt-load of pistols most likely. My heart will alwaysbe with WWI and II American and British arms, so I'll be collecting and restoring those and putting together many displays. However, truck payments, insurance, rent, electricity, cable and internet bills must come first [>:]
