I use a Pro-line youth bow which we got used. It's 30 pound pull. That's what I got my deer with last year. (There's no draw weight limit in Michigan, luckily for me.) I've been practicing with a Bear take down recurve, (25 pound pull) that we also got used. I'm still working on my accuracy with it.
My husband has quite a few guns, many of them antiques. Two of my favorites are 98 Mausers, one with the Czech royal crest and another made for the Persians, (Iran now) with the royal crest and all the markings in Farsi. There are some handguns too. Most of them are made by Czechoslovenska Zbrojovka in what is now the Czech Republic. We have a CZ 97, .45 ACP, which he bought new. It's unbelievably accurate. One of my favorites is a Hawken style muzzleloader with a double set trigger. I love to shoot it. The heavier guns work best for me because they have less recoil.
We have a Colt King Cobra (.357 magnum) with a Leupold red dot scope. Our Winchester 94 also has a scope. The scopes are for my husband's benefit. The iron sights are a little fuzzy for him. It's hard for me to believe I never even thought about guns or hunting until I met my husband not even two years ago.
