Well i wasn't fortunate enough to grow up with a family that hunts. I was born and raised in the city and never thought about huntin untill one of my neighbors one day asked me if i wanted to go to one of his friends farm. He had taken my cousin a couple of times and i always wanted to go so whenthe opportunity came up iwas out the door in a heart beat! I was still a kid about 12 and we took the 2 hour drive and went up to the farm. I have to say as we arrived i just knew the country was for me. I had never been anywhere outside the city when thistook placeand i have to say the feeling of just being away from the city and everyone was overwhelming. We spent a week there and they took me out and i got some armadillos, rabbits, and they killed a HUGE hog while i was there. I ate venison for the first time in my life and absolutely loved it. From then on i was always asking him to take me.Lol(boydid i bother him)Till about 2 years ago that i got my car and license and now enjoy it on my own. I wish i can still be going out there with him but he's already to old, buthuge thanks to him becauseif it wasn't for him i wouldn't be enjoying the great outdoors like i do today.

My mentor is mostly my dad! I've been hunting with him since I was a baby! But my uncle raises buffalo and my grandpa owns elk, deer, buffalo, hogs, he did own fowl deer. SO i grew up around a lot of hunting. My family didn't exspect me to follow their foot steps, because Iwas a girlbut my dad always encouraged me too!

My dad has never been hunting. My cousin...who is 28 and my great uncle have taught me alot about deer hunting. They have been hunting their whole lives. They are great mentors to me.

My grandpa was a big deer hunter and he hasnt been able to get out in the woods for a while. This year i got to harvest a nice doe while i was with him, and that was really cool. But, my dad has also been a great mentor to me

My great grandpa, grandpa, dad, mom, were all hunters so i grew up around it. Its something that hopefully my son (or other children i have someday)will follow my footsteps

well,my mentor was my brother because he is a huting guide.my first animal was a dove and my second kill was a cottontial rabbit.
