Went out tonight, had a nice 6 point come in grunting with his nose to the ground, gave him a few grunts and he came unglued, making scrapes and tearing up any tree around him. Passed him up at 15yrds. Makes you wonder if things are a little earlier than the norm.

What part of NY are you located ???
I,m starting to see more deer again . Slode down for a week or so .
I have seen at least 3 different bucks , But niether one was after a doe or looked to be in rut yet .
The ones I,ve seen were actualy browsing with or near the doe,s .
I,m up in Northern NY,,
Cooled down pretty good the last few days so the deer have been on the move a little earlier .
Actualy snow abought 3 hrs this morming thow nothing acumalated .

Nothing is any earlier or later. It just depends on the luck and timing ofwhat you see.
Every year someone sees early "rutting" behavior while the next guy sees nothhing. Heck one can see both in the same night sometimes. One buck comes by and be in the mood. The next one comes by ignoring everything.

Opening day of southern bow i shot a 6 pointer. I first heard him grunting so i grunted back. 4 does and 2 bucks came in. A spike was chasing a doe with his nose right under her tail. I finally got the 6 by grunting againg and him coming into range.
