if you have a decent size field than i'd leave half the corn standing the following spring and summer and let the weeds create more cover for deer to bed (and eat). disc the other half and plant soybeans (or the like) and you've just created both a food plot and decent cover.

concerning the tractor, who really knows what's a good buy and what isn't outside of your area of the country for service, parts, etc. i'd ask around your part of the state and see what the local folks are driving. good luck and be careful----the only thing more dangerous than manhandling an old brute is hopping on a new green or orange 4 w.d. compact and getting in a spot you got no business being in and no way out!

I would brush hog it and disk it. I use a Ford 3 cylinder diesel.
Have a 6ft brush hog and a 24" tandem disk I bought in 1969.
The only thing I have had to do to the tractor Is a new starter and 2
front tires in 36yrs. Of course I have changed the oil's in all the case's
many times. Still has the 2 original lug tires in the rear.
