With the extremely dry summer we have had my milo food plots are a complete failure. I was thinking of planting a clover or alfalfa in half of the area and leaving the other have for grain to be planted next spring. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Start working the area... Rid it of weeds and grasses, do a soil sample and start the limeing and fertilization process. You might be able to do a fall planting if you get the lead out... Sept. 1 - Nov 1 are your traditional fall planting dates.
