I'm New to this board and find it very useful! I looking to plant a one acre of corn this coming summer, soil is sandy loam in Central Wis. I limed it the last 2 springs and planted it with Rape and Turnnips. Ph I believe is 6.3. Any advise on what type of corn or what prep work before planting?
Thanks,

Id have to agree with whitetail definitely go with the roundup corn, but see if you can split a bag with someone as a bag runs over a hundred dollars and will plant 3 to 3.5 acres. Id also say too hit the plot with another 100#s of 20-10-10 right after you spray the round up.
Is this the only food plot your planting? If so I wouldnt recommend planting corn. A one acre corn plot could get wiped out before it even had a chance to grow ears. You would be better served to split the plot in half or in thirds and plant a good clover mix like biologic in two thirds of the plot this spring and plant some oats or wheat in the other third closest to your stand in Sept..
