Here in the south they are called Pin Oaks..Very small acorns..Deer will not eat them because of bitterness..Pretty much all they are good for is clogging up gutters on your house..If your thinking about hunting Oaks you need to find a White Oak Tree(Pointed leaves)..Not Red Oaks(Rounded leaves)..Red Oaks acorns are also bitter..

I came across a unique Oak on a new lease the other day.
A Chestnut Oak, it had acorns in clusters that almost looked like grapes !
The nuts were real small.....anybody know if they are a good food source ? I can't emagine them not being.
This lone tree is on the edge of a field, kinda like a point, and not another one like it that I could find.
