Mixure for hand sprayers
#1
I want to do some spot spraying with one of the hand sprayers you pump up by hand. I bought some 2-4 D, and Generic Roundup, and both give mixing rates according to ground speed etc, etc, but what about mixing for just a hand sprayer? What ratio do I use for a gallon of water? Thanks.

41% glyphosate (generic roundup) - 2.5 oz per gallon.
2-4D, what ever the lable says, there are many different consentrations available. The last gallon I bought was 65% and I remember mixing at 1qt per acre in the boom sprayer.

spot spraying small weedswith roundup, use a 2% solution. if your generic doesn't have surfactant, add some dish soap.

alot of vegetation has a waxy substance on the surface. water + herbicide can sort of bead up on the plant. the soap prevents the beading up. add just a squirt or two, once you've added herb and all the water to your tank.

Why do you want to mix roundup and 24D, Roundup will kill everything , you would be wasting the 24D. if you just want to kill weeds and save the grass then use the 24D. I mix 3 oz of R/U to a gal of water

We always go by Ed Spinazolla(QDMA FOOD PLOT BOOK)and he says 1/2 cup per gal. Might be around4 oz or so. We did this last week and it burned up good. Also added some sprayable amonium sulfate also.
