RE: Harrow Drag-vs-Cultipacker
I have used for several years now a 10' section of chain link fence.
I rig some weights up and use it to smooth the soil out after we disc. Then I remove the weights and go over the fields after we spread the seed out.
I have used this for several years and most of my friends are amazed at how well the thing works. I have had no problems AT ALL with having seed germinate.
Good luck!

Do any of you have pictures of these "drags" you have? I obviously
know what a cedar log and chain link fence look like, but was
wondering if anyone had pictures. Trying to figure out how to make me
and effective drag. Thank you again for you responses.

I use a 8'L x 6'W harrow, to reduce as well as cover seed if needed. If I am doing just clover for instance, I drag the harrow first to reduce and level after disc plowing, then throw the seed on the surface. I wouldn't trade my harrow in for anything. It does the job from knoda oat sowing to preparing the top soil for chufa.
