According to the PA Game Commission website, Dr. Alt is leaving at the end of 2004. He wanted to leave last year, but was persuaded to stay one more year. In my humble opinion, Alt is the best thing to happen to PA deerhunters in my lifetime (47 years). His scientific approach (including antler restrictions) will help insure a healthier deer herd and a healthier forest for future generations. After decades of severe mismanagement, Alt finally put some common sense to work. It was never easy. he had to travel all over the state to make his point and convince hunters.
