Default Hanging Deer

Is it better to hang deer by the back legs or by the head. I would think the blood would drain better if hung with the head up. But all the hangers I've seen a for the back legs up. Does it make a difference?

better to hang them by the legs, same as the butcher would. Blood drains into the head which you don't eat anyway. Keeps them spread open and helps cool the meat.

Easier to skin them the other way I think but we just drop them down and pull back up head first when we're ready to skin.

The ones I have done were with the head down and legs up.

It just seemed easyer to me.

Never thought of blood going into the head.

To me it just seems easyer to skin them for me to do it that way.

Good Luck
