Ground hunting can be very effective ,
remember that our ancestors rarely hunted from trees , at most they might get on top of a high rock . Outline break up and hiding any movement are far more important when hunting from a ground blind than they would be in a high tree stand .

MASS, THAT IS A GREAT WAY TO HUNT, ONE AREA I HUNT WAS FROM THE GROUND, MAKING SURE YOU BLEND IN IS KEY, IN MY AREA I HAD A GULLY WITH A NICE TREE DOWN TO MY RIGHT ,A 4FT SPRUCE BHIND MYBACK THEN I GRAB SOME BRANCHES AND PUT THEM TO MY LEFT AND IN FRONT OF ME,CLEAN THE GROUND UNDER ME SO I COULD MOVE WITH OUT BEING HEARD IF NEEDED TO TAKE A SHOT.ONE MORNING I HAD FOX COME STRAIGHT TOWARD ME THEN OFF TO MY LEFT ABOUT6FT. IN DIDNT EVEN DETECT ME.THEN ONE OTHER MORNING HAD A SMALL DOE COME BUY WITH OUT WINDING ME. JUST MAKE SURE YOU BLEND IN AND TRY TO BE SCENT FREE AND YOU SHOULD BE SUCCESSFUL[8D]

First concern is the wind. Make sure your setup considers wind direction. Of course take care of your scent.
Then concealment. You want something in from of you and behind you. Camo is important, and consider mixing patterns for your shirt and pants.
Make sure you have room to maneuver your gun/bow.
Then, don't move. Make sure you are confortable. Keep any movements slow.
You leave more scent behind when hunting on the ground, so vary your setups moreso than if hunting from trees.
