I hunt in Hardin Co. in So IL . We have private ground and are next to National Forrest ground so there is a lot to cover. If you are looking for info on outfitters I will not be able to help. We see alot of deer everywhere we hunt, bucks are decent size usually 8 or 10 point . I have seen a full body mount of a possible state recored taken second season shotgun from Hardin Co. when I was at the Deer classic in Bloomington last winter but just like anywhere that was most likely a lot of luck. Good luck in your search.

Here's a deer I killed last year in Monegomery county. Not exactly southern Illinois but it's not too far away. In my experience the hunting in Illinois is spectacular. After the crops get out the deer hit the corn fields hard. I do alot of my afternoon/evening hunting sitting near these trying to catch deer on their way to them. And you can't beat the size of the deer here in Illinois.

I killed this buck bowhunting near the Southern Illinois town of Olney last year. Lots of farmland there. Corn, soybeans and milo fields everywhere. We saw a lot of deer and a few real bruisers. One deer I saw was later killed by the land owner and gross scored 189. I can post a pic of him as well if you like. But here is my much smaller buck.
