I've used my decoy several times and only had two encounters, both bad. The first was early fall, i was hunting the edge of a field and had the doe dec 30 yds out. A doe came out on the field, lost her mind, went in to the woods. Appeared right under my (downwind of the dec) and starting stomping and moving cautiously toward the dec. I tried to move to get a shot and made a slght noise and she bolted. She was WAY nervous because of that dec.

Second was I was on the edge of a bedding area, during pre rut, with a small buck dec in some brush. 3 does came down a trail, saw that dec and headed for the hills. They were coming right to me and w/o that dec I could have taken one.

One thing I forgot to add is that this dec has it's head up and staring off in the distance. If I were going to buy one I'd get a feeding deer, I think mine gives the look that something is wrong so even if they get past the fake deer look they are still suspicous.

I am privvy to view deer year round in my back yard-I mean "IN MY YARD" & have a Deer 3-d target 25 yards from my Deck-I have video of Big Bucks, fawns & Does coming right past it & paying no attention-I think they know it is always there BUT when I set a decoy out by the house (which many walk next to) they skirt out around it & keep watching.
We can watch the deer anytime they are in the yard (20 yds or less) but as soon as the door latch clicks-they move into the woods. This pic is 10 feet from my sliding glass door & deck. I have the best place ever to live.

I have a Redi Doe decoy and I poked a couple of holes and made a PVC set of antlers for either sex. Used it easily and can't remember a bad response. Most deer just walked the same route they were on. I need to sell some gear since I'm clearing the attic and would sell this for $50 and paid $90 if anyone wants one cheap. It's a full body type.

I have tried it once. It was kind of a mixed bag of reaction. One thing was for sure, I had more deer come under my stand in one day than any I have ever hunted. This may also be coincedence. I believe in one thing though...if you aren't comfortable with your set up then the deer won't be either.

I've had good luck with mine,I use a True Talker deer call with mine and it makes them relax.
