We have lots of skunks here. Don't believe anything anyone says about where to shoot a skunk so it won't spray. Use something you can hook to the trap and drag it out where the smell doesn't matter, shoot him in the head with .22 and stay upwind, get it out of the trap and bury it.

I wouldn't shoot him!!! Every skunk I've ever shot has sprayed. I've shot them in the head, body, just about everywhere. It seems that they lose control of their muscles and they just start pouring that stink out. I've caught them in traps and just shot 'em. Just get ready for some serious stink for awhile! Let us know how it turns out. Good luck!

[X(] How about a nice dose of carbon monoxide, providing you an your family don't live in the barn oh or your livestock. Nobody can say this is not a humane way for the poor little bast%^ to go out.
Hey this would work on those pesky little librals as well. [>:] J/k libs who would we shoot at when your all gone.

Get a cheap rain suit or poncho and cover your head with clear plastic. Walk right up and let it loose. Or shoot it in the head with a .22 from a 30 ft. away.
Whatever you do, dont let the thing suffer by starving it.

No No No. You guys are all WRONG!!! The most humane thing you can do is get one of those freaks from PETA (the old PETA) and have him/her take it home with them. Problem solved. I bet you ten bucks they kill the little bass-terd.
We once had a skunk heading for the barn. So my dad goes after it with a stick. Funny as hell. It makes it in the barn. So now we are trying to get the thing out, not really worried about getting sprayed. It sprayed... but not all over, just on its self. Now my dad is pee-offed. He just starts flinging it through the air with the stick. Gets it away from the barn, and the dog goes after it. We are now fighting with the dog, while the skunk runs off. I got it the worst, and it really didn't smell all that bad. It was a young skunk. I wonder if that had anything to do with it...

I once had a pet skunk named barney, we set him free 2 years ago.
Now-- open the cage and walk up to him and call out barney, if he comes to you he wont spray. he's friendly. just try it.
barney is black and has a white stripe down his back.
let me know.
