My ground blind has been in place for probably close to 25 years, I have sat there for about 15, brother-in-law used it before me.
Most of the guys in our camp have permanent ground blinds that we built by piling fallen logs and limbs that we find nearby. I try to get to camp a couple times during archery/small game and check to see if it needs rebuilt from the previous year due to rotting.
If i get cold or am not seeing deer i will walk a bit and just look for areas that provide some natural cover - large rocks, stumps, fallen trees etc
