Hoppes, smelling this wonderful solvent, does it bring back any good memories of the past?
I opened up my jar of hoppes to clean and put my rifle away for the hunting season, and the wonderful memories that flooded my mind as I smelled this great stuff, the days gone by, sitting in the old homestead by the fireplace talking deer hunting with family and friends, yes those were some good old days, does this stir up any memories for you? Please let me know if there any old nostalgic folks who remember this hunters cleaning solution?

i remember spilling a whole bottle last year in out basement right beside the furnace, our whole house smelled it like for a while. I think that and bore butter are about the two best smellin things around.

I also remember ' Rig Gun Grease" Originally made in my Hometown of Oregon, Ill.by Russ Wiles, who as a young man shot on the olympic rifle team. He was instumental in my education in firearms. Gave me my tests for rifle, pistol and shotgun instructor and firearms safety instructor. helped me to work at the local Boy scout camp as rifle range director. I think he was at one time a director for the NRA. He also donated his lubricant to the military during various conflicts. He truly was a man that I haad looked up to.

Just about all of my shooting buddies and I swear by Hoppes #9 to make our bores spotless. It' s quite popular among many circles of firearms enthusiasts, and I imagine a lot of them remember good times over the smell. I' m new to hunting, so all I can do is dream about the times to come. But it' s smells good, cleans great, and sets the mood for the hunts of tomorrow.
