[quote][Premise 5 : A person can ethically wound a deer by using any legal implement they wish as long as it is within the parameters of what they or their gruop deem ethically eacceptable. /quote]
very simple: Take all your other premises and change 5 to this....
Premise 5: A person can LEGALLY wound a deer by using any legal impement they wish at the same time knowing it was an ethically idiotic thing to do in relation to the sport of hunting as viewed by society.
How long do you think the one shot willy woodchuck took to scan his background in his haste to rip of his sole shot in the woods for the season. He was so overcome with joy of seeing a deer running mock 12 that he had the whereabouts to look at his background?? Probably not, but hey who' s to say he was wrong. That is except for the guy 50 yards behind him that he killed.
Tomster get a grip dude that' s the most idiotic thing I' ve heard.
And who do you get to help you practice that running shot at the range? Most be one hell of a friend!!
B&C I don' t care what your text book equations for logic dictate in accordance with etchics. All that crap doesnt matter. For you as a hunter to sit there and even entertain the notion of understanding these rebel idiots and their actions is appaling. The scariest thing to me is that you' re only about 30 minutes from me. I think I' ll put on a little extra orange!!!!

I find bow hunters worse that rifle since many shoot deer only to wound them,
I always try for a kill and spend much time at the range practicing on the rifles I plan on using. Sometimes I have shot at running deer only to miss and most I go for double lung or shoot out the front shoulders.

Wow Give it up for NY Bowhunter his views are far superior to that of " text book equations " NY hunter with your vast knowledge and supperioir intelect to the founding fathers of mathematics you should been able to decipher the fact that i dont hunt this way. I only typed that three times now. I have also said that i dont neagree with people who do. All i sad is that it is their right to do so. If you cant admit that it is their right to do so then you arent really important in teh real world. Regaurdless the outcome or possibilities it is their right to hunt in any legal manner they choose.
Where are you from NY bowhunter. Because last time i checked they still use " Text book equations in all of the cities around here.
I am vowing to put an end to your ignorance. Please read all of my posts and then you may see the light. I dont support this style of hunting but i support the fact, yes the FACT that any hunter is allowed to use it if the choose to do so.
I know you are trying to make friends by putting me down and that is ok. I feel for you. Your need to blend in is appearent and i dont think i can fight the fact that you are not willing to even aknowledge my point.
So with that said ill continue to use all of the silly and unapplicable equations i learned in 16 years of schooling. I cant get opver the fact that i wasted all that time and money in college on those old fashioned useless equations.

Bearklr, THe is post was in response to another post that disussed this topic. That post is the post that fuels the fire. The mere mention of these hunters fuels the fire. The only way to keep a unified front is to support all hunters that hunt in a legal manner and if we as a community disagree with those hunters methods then we must lobby for new legislation. Instead of creating oposition to the sport in our own ranks we must make sure that the majority of hunters agree with the current rules governing hunting. You guys would rather outcast these people than change their ways. They arent poachers they arent criminals, they are just less responsable than myself and most other hunters. I just get sick of the complaing. If it bother you so much do something about it. Dont just sit around picking others apart. I realize that is sorta what this message board is for but i am willing to bet none of you have invested any of your own time into solving this matter on a legislative level. As long as you put in your two cents you have done all you could. That is a crappy attitude.

Josh E I have not mentioned a single word about bowhunting VS gun hunting. I have no idea why you posted that post in my direction. Unless im mistaken i dont think i ever said anything about bows being inferior to guns. Let me know if im wrong.

B&C. I quess in a way I might agree with you. I quess I also may be one of the people you mention who have strong ethics partly because where I hunt I see litterly 100' s of deer almost every season. There is never a need for me to take an iffy shot and certainly not even a running shot. I seldom if ever shoot at a running deer unless he is already hit. Mule deer have the habit of almost always stopping to look back at you before the go over that last ridge. The first day I was out this year, I drove over a little rise in the field and there stood two bunches of Mule deer. One bunch was about 150 yards the other bunch about 250 yards. I got out of the jeep and walked 20 yards or so toward them then took the time to lay down and get a good rest and scope them out. looked over all the deer in both groups, about 8-10 in each group. I finally picked the biggest doe to fill my doe tag and dropped her in her tracks. The whole time I fielld dressed that doe the rest of them stood about 150 yards away watching. They were still standing there when I loaded my deer and took off. I am spoiled and tend to frown a little on people who can' t make a clean kill. Where I hunt you almost have to try to blow a clean kill. In that case there is no excuse for taking a bad shot. Those Mule deer in Farm country have no fear of trucks and tractors as they see them every day. You can drive just about right up to them with a tractor.

OK dandy I can see your point. Yes you can' t say they are wrong. Who' s to say they are wrong or right as long as they are within the parameters of the law? They may think I' m wrong. I understand that argument. That' s not that difficult to understand the point that you' re making there. I still don' t agree with everything you say and how it actually seems you have compassion for these people. Don' t harass them?? Embrace them?? the poor pot shot hunter. BS get em out of the woods.
