Stolen Deer?

Tag it and cover it with sticks and leaves if you can. Make sure you know exactly where it is. You don' t want to hide it from yourself! [

That thumbtack ideaa is really slick. If it' s not a mounter, you could always take your knife and poke a slit in the shape of an X in center of the ear. You aren' t able to tell unless you stick your finger through it.

I have never heard of anybody stealing a dead deer, although there must have been somebody somewhere LOW enough to do it. The Human animal can be one of the dumbest and self centered creatures out there.

From a book I' m currently reading (How to Bag the Biggest Buck of Your Life, by Larry Benoit) the author suggests leaving a coin just under the skin of a knee joint if you have to leave a deer in the woods. Great book by the way.

How about a hunting license in the deers mouth. When asked to prove it was his deer,he opened the deers mouth and his license fell out.The hunt club told the young man the deer came off thier drive. One of the joys of hunting in NJ.
