No! IMHO it' s never too early to rattle. Unless the bucks are still in velvet. You don' t want to go slamming the horns hard this early but in a week or so it should be no holds barred

I hunt northern Minnesota. last night I lightly rattled for 2nd time this week. On Monday evening, I had a small fork come in, last night on my 3rd 20 second sequence, a 9 pter came in on a charge but never offered a shot. Will be trying again tonight on different stand. this time my decoys will be used also. Happy Hunting! Steve

I always rattle in the B/P season here in Central Fla.our rut usually starts in the last of Oct. or early Nov.
Last year is the first year in a loooooog time I haven' t rattled one in real close.I did get one in at about 100 yards,he stopped to look at my decoy just long enough for a shot.I missed him(don' t know why).
every year I rattle in several for me and my wife to get a shot.it is always in the last week of Oct...........then dog season opens and I am to into the dogs for rattling.[8D]
give it a try,it can' t hurt.
