Default How many deer does the average hunter kill...

...over a lifetime?

Note that the question isn't, how many deer have you killed? as I'm sure this forum is weighted a bit toward the prolific end of the scale (it seems to attract many experienced, successful hunters).

Hard number to count. Dont think their is an algorithm out there that can calculate that. At least not for us simple folk.

Variables--> Life span, years hunting, location of hunting, deer density's throughout region (historically to presently), type of equipment used for harvest, etc, etc.

I've been deer hunting over 40 years. The last three years I've killed 5 deer each year. So 40 X 5 = 200. Nope! That formula didn't work.

OP is asking about total quantity over the hunter's lifetime.

Too many variables for me to even take a stab at it though.

I've averaged just under two a year for the ten years I've been hunting. Some years it's been three, others none. But my average is just under two. I could kill a lot more, but no need.

Where??????

Here in NC the limit for years was 6...A few years ago they changed the rules so we can buy additional doe tags the price is $10 for two...

Since we own farms I have killed as many as 15 legally in a year...Our season runs from early September to January 1st...

Now, I understand in other states the limits and seasons are not so liberal....

LOL I'm not dead yet and I hope to keep adding to the number.
