Hey, I stocked a shadow under a bunch of thickets that looked exactly
like a monster buck through my spotting scope once about 1 kilometer away.Ruined almost 2 hours of hunting time.At 300 yards it was still there when I glassed through my binos. Sat and did the waiting game for the buck to stand up Didn't realize it wasn't a buck until the fog started lifting and it was just another 200 class stump.

Happens to me all the time. Binocs definitely help. I stared at a clump of gravel until my eyes hurt once.

Last season I had this happen. There's a spot in front of the stand that if I look at it right, the vines and trees and leaves are shaped just like an extra huge deer head. Like if someone painted a deer head. It's kindof neat.

There's also a palmetto branch across that looks like a deer in the early light. That's not so neat.

lol this is hilarious, not only did this happen to me last year but my girlfriend and buddy were both walking into the woods with me and we had made it about 20 yards from my truck and looked up on the hill to where we were going before daylight and saw "somebody" staring at us on my grandfather's property.

I shined my light at the person but they never responded so I told my friend and girlfriend to hang back while I went and seen who it was. I made it about 30 yards before I realized the "person" was a cedar tree lol.
